A two swim day

Great to be able to relax and have a laid back day here in Peschici. Started with a beautiful Italian breakfast on the terrace prepared by our host Franseco and his Mum and Dad. Fresh local fruit, yogurt, bread, coffe, orange juice and the biggest lightest freshest and most tasty brioche ever.

Then off too the beach at San Nicola for our first swim, the location of our great ristorante. Saw their fishing tower of trabucco. The beach is typical with rows of colorful umbrellas and sun beds each costing about $8 to hire. We chose the rocks. The sea here is noticeably salty and bouyant, it is warm too. A lovely coffee in a cafe by the beach then back for lunch.

Walked about 100m from our B & B and bought fruit tomatoes and fresh bread that was so cheap. The bread, 4 rolls and a small loaf for $1.20 and fruit half the price of home.

A quiet siesta for a few hours after lunch reading and catching up on emails then off for second swim. Explored the historic past of town before dinner with its Castel, cobbled streets and cliff edge buildings. Heaps of people out as usual. The town was humming at 9.30 pm on a Tuesday night as we walked home. A great atmosphere.

Off to play in Monopoli today, about 4 hours drive from here. We will be on a cycle tour for the next 5 days around this area of Puglia in the heal of Italy.
