Cycling under the Tuscan sun - hot work!

Biking 30km of Tuscan roads was the aim for today. Another bello blue day. We picked up our quite rustic bikes from Belliny Bikes at 9 am and headed on a circuit to Uligano and back to San G. A warm day but pleasant cycling in the morning.

Great pictures back towards San Gimignano across the vineyards and olive groves. Eventually found a cafe and rested before cycling back. Talked   to a nice chap who recognized our very NZ tops. Keen on his rugby. Had lived in the UK for some years and came back for the summer.

Some nice dirt roads through trees. cycling back. Hot cycling the last few kms back to San G on the sealed road - 30 degrees. The cold lemon soda at the top was much needed.

Home for a late lunch/afternoon tea and then grocery shopping in the pleasantly cool supermarceto. Went for a walk around town and could not resist a gellato from the World Champion Gellato shop. This place always has a queue, a bit like Fergburger. Era Squiseto - delicious!

Off to Firenze tomorrow early by train to see some paintings and sculptures by Mike, Leo, and others in the Uffizi.
