Sky blue and warm for our 45 km loop to Locorotondo and Martina Franca back to Alberobello.
Intercepted some snake road kill at our first intersection which Justin realistically arranged on the rock wall for us, bends included.
Bello countryside, rolling hills, farms, orchards, grapes and wheat adorned with roadside poppies. Quiet roads on a Saturday morning. Morning tea in Locorotondo and another wedding underway with balloons and VW.
Off to Martina Franca for lunch and two more wedding groups passed us by, one on the back of a 3 wheeler and the other in a flash white machine. We are something of a magnet for married couples it seems.
Beautiful skies cycling back to Alberobello with an approaching thunder storm. Back by 4pm for afternoon tea and showers. Some fruit and bread shopping as we will leave early for our cycle back to Monopoli tomorrow. From there we will head to Pisciotta on the coast near Amalfi for 4 days.
